DRUG CHURCH – Dynamo, Eindhoven | 2026

Sunday, September 13th, Dynamo Eindhoven – Outside, the rain is coming down in buckets even though autumn hasn’t officially started yet. Inside the Mainstage, things heat up fast. Three bands on the bill that all sit slightly outside the usual boxes, and that’s exactly what makes this night stand out.

Hippie Trim open the show

The German band, formed from the ashes of Earl Grey, kicks things off with real energy. Frontman Malte Unnasch paces restlessly across the stage, barking out his lyrics, before guitarist Moritz Mewes brings in the more dreamy, shoegaze-tinged side of the band with his clean vocals. That mix of hardcore, punk and melodic emo influences works surprisingly well and sets the tone for the rest of the evening.

Liquid Mike bring the laughs

Frontman Mike Maple provides plenty of comic relief, including a comment about the NFL season kicking off back home that doesn’t quite land with a Dutch crowd (the loudest response to his question about which sport is popular here: “figure skating!”). Musically, the band’s blend of garage rock, power pop and indie rock is tight, even if the setlist gets a small last-minute rework when a requested song turns out to be off the table. It never quite explodes, but the quality and charm are undeniable.

Drug Church close it out

The main event belongs to Drug Church. From the moment the Albany, New York band takes the stage, it feels like a home game. Frontman Patrick Kindlon knows exactly how to work a crowd: he calls out the polite distance between stage and audience and asks people to move in closer. It works. What follows is a set full of energy, sing-alongs and stagedives, in a now well-filled Mainstage.

Drug Church make it clear why they’re hard to pin down to one genre, somewhere between punk and grunge, with a sound that recalls contemporaries like Militarie Gun, High Vis and Fiddlehead, while still carving out their own identity.

The verdict

Three very different bands, each doing their own thing slightly differently than everyone else, coming together for a Dynamo night nobody leaves disappointed.
