Bloodphemy – Blood Will Tell (EP review) ★★★★☆

The death metal band Bloodphemy from the Netherlands are already busy since 2000. They released a demo called ‘Section 8’ in 2002 and disbanded in 2003. In 2015 the picked up where they left and released a brand new EP called ‘Blood Will Tell’.

The EP ‘Blood Will Tell’ brings you 5 songs of ravenous death metal. These guys have a massive history in the Dutch metal scene: ex-Altar, Bleeding Gods, ex-Bodyfarm and many other bands. The sound of their music is heavily down tuned old school death metal and reminds me of bands like Entombed and Deicide. So, not bad at all!

The guitar riffs are heavy and filled with catchy melodies and solos. The drums are straight in your face including double bass and filled with groove. The vocals (which I like a lot) remind me a lot of Bloodbath (not with Nick Holmes, but before that). The production of this EP is also massive. Everything is pretty to listen to and every element comes out really heavy. The only thing I don’t like, is the face this is an EP! After the last song your stuck with an empty feeling, so I cannot wait for a full length!

Musical this band brings nothing really new in my opinion, but what you hear is what you get! Old school death metal till the bone and very well executed. Strong songs, great production and killer grunts. If this are ingredients you are looking for, then this is definitely worth checking!
