The promising Dutch metal band THE UNSLAIN is back! With their brand new single ‘Quintessence’, the four-piece showcases their ability to combine the finest of the classic 80′ Heavy Metal with nowadays Modern Metal creating a crushing new sound they’d like to call Modern Old-School Metal.
The track ‘Quintessence’ tells the story of ancient scientists who believed that all matter was built up of only 5 elements and relates this to our current world-view, which is bound to also not be 100% correct. The song encapsulates this feeling of ignorance by using an eclectic assortment of riffs using different time signatures and alternating growling and clean vocals, but reassures the listener that it is okay to not know everything with pleasant melodies and a catchy hook.
