Living on the edge!

Chelsea Smile – Triumph (album review) ★★★★☆

The Dutch hardcore band Chelsea Smile started as a group of friends in 2009. After a few changes in the line-up, they released their debut album ‘Survival of the Innocent’ in 2013 and their second album ‘Stay on Track’ in 2014. Two years later (September, 2016) they released their third album called ‘Triumph’. And a triumph it is! A solid hardcore metal album with anger, world vision and all day problems as subjects for their songs.

The album opens with the heavy track ‘All Out War’ and keeps the speed up in the following songs. The song ‘Soul Searcher’ features ‘WD’ from the Dutch hardcore band Manu Armata. A nice collaboration and one of the better songs on the album. When you hear it, you certainly will love it! The sixth song ‘Society’ is a heavy dragging song that keeps you focused till the end. After this song the speed goes up again and the band finishes the record in style. Chelsea Smile proves with this album that they are a band with great potential and ready for the next step.
